The French Deming Association has got links with the American Deming Institute. They are thinking about shared actions.

ISO 9001 Standard

The AFNOR shop has released a new edition of the ISO 9001 Standard, September 2015.

Some big changes since the former edition, published 2008, can be noticed. First, the volume has increased considerably : 28 pages in 2008, 56 pages in 2015. Next, the sections are placed differently. But the contents are nearly the same.

While the Deming Wheel had been mentioned briefly in 2008, the 2015 edition makes a full section of it, with a special figure. Unfortunately, the section is wrong, the figure is wrong.

Therefore, the Jean-Marie Gogue article Interprétation de la norme ISO 9001 au regard de la philosophie de Deming is stilll, and more than ever, topical.

International

The Deming Prize, equivalent to the Nobel Prize for management, has been awarded to Ashok Leyland for its Pantnagar plant. Located in the State of Uttarakhand, North of India, The city is a large industrial center devoted to the automotive industry. Ashok Leyland makes trucks and buses.
